The wreck of the Titanic would Painted?

WASHINGTON, KOMPAS.com - Sunday (15/04/2012), exactly one century ship RMS Titanic sank. Now largely rusted wrecks and threatened destroyed by metal-eating bacteria. There are various attempts to salvage the wreck of this luxury. Robert Ballard, an ocean adventurer, suggested that the wreck can be painted with antifouling material using a robot.Ballard has submitted a petition to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)."When I dive to the Titanic in 1985, I found the actual antifouling paint," Ballard said as quoted by National Geographic, Thursday (12/04/2012).Ballard saw a reddish paint in the bottom of the hull. There was no corrosion or perkaratan in that section."Cat's work, but it's clear that they do not think that they should paint all parts of the ship with the cat," said Ballard.Ballard believes that the painting of the wreck to prevent rusting rivets so they can maintain the ship's hull remained intact, keeping the ship intrerior remain good.According to Ballard, the basic technology to support the operation of painting with robots already exist today."Supertanker using a robot that cleans the boat hull and paint it in the water. So this may be very easy," said Ballard.Responding to the plan Ballard, James P Delgado of NOAA said it could not decide the continuation of the plan because it has no authority over the Titanic.Delgado said that the plan needs to consider the effects of painting, such as environmental impact, the impact of the unseen on the ship itself as well as the technical implementation."Sitem do some sort of robotic polishing and painting in shallow water. Is it possible to do it at a depth of 2.5 miles (4 kilometers) and a pressure of 6000 psu? I do not know the answer," said Delgado.Delgado also assess the importance of knowing the public reaction to the plan.Another thing that is not less important is the financing. Who will bear?"We do not even have the resources to go and see Titanic. Expedition Titanic in 2010, for example, funded by the private sector and we are fortunate to be given the opportunity to participate in the trip," said Delgado.Ballard said the cost might be required for supertankers. If the plan is approved paint, Ballard will require several thousand dollars from private parties to perform tests of painting. Some people assessing Ballard could not have plans of painting. However, when Ballard asked the school children, the first question that arises is, "What color?"Ballard who discovered the Titanic wreck in 1985 said that the paint may not be black and white.
